Architectural Designer
If you are looking to join a medium-sized architectural practice with a high level of opportunity to express your ability to design, collaborate, and construct, then don’t miss this opportunity to join us in beautiful Vermont at Scott + Partners. We are a 12-person architecture firm, and we are looking for an independent creative thinker to join our design and construction document team in the next few weeks.
Our practice focuses on commercial, health care, educational, and multi-family projects. We work in small two- or three-person project teams and offer you the ability to take on as much problem-solving responsibility as you can handle. We value a collaborative design process and recognize good ideas come from everywhere. We like working with people and understand they are the center point of successful projects.
We need someone who can help develop design concepts and create refined drawings that tell the design story to clients, then translate them into accurate construction documents for builders. Experience on the construction site is favorable, understanding of how buildings get built is a must. Previous experience with construction documents is required. Salary is commensurate with experience, but we anticipate annual salary in the $60,000-$70,000 range (with annual bonuses based on profitability) with health benefits, dental and vision, 3 weeks pro-rated vacation, 40 hours of sick/flex time, standard federal holidays. Standard week is 40 hours over 5 days, with flexibility. Full-time in-office attendance required when starting, ability to work 2 days remote available after short probationary period.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the design team (including consultants).
- Site visits to collect existing conditions.
- 3D modeling to develop SD, DD, and CD phase drawings
- Contacting manufacturers, sales reps, vendors for pertinent product data and confirming product appropriateness for project
- Interpreting project requirements and translating them to design and construction documents
- Problem-solving, self-education, ability to track design and documentation work through to completion.
- Researching products and materials for inclusion in projects.
- Coordinating drawings and specifications
- QA/QC of your work to office standards
- Assisting with addenda during bidding.
- Assisting with CA phase work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
- A portfolio of completed designs.
- 1-2 years of Revit experience.
- Previous office experience.
This position will require interfacing with representatives from all aspects of the design and construction field on a regular basis, so we need someone who is comfortable with this work.

Bookkeeper / Office Administrator
Our architectural firm seeks a well-organized and comfortable dealing with financial data. This individual will oversee the accounts payable and receivable, process payroll, and conduct other finance-related tasks. They should be excellent at recording data and have the ability to produce clear financial reports.
Responsibilities
• Track expenses, budget, taxes, cash flow, receipts, and other financial dealings of the company
• Provide regular financial reports (weekly, monthly, and yearly)
• Reconcile bank accounts
• Maintain project records, client lists, and marketing materials.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable
• Ensure timely processing of payroll
• Administer HR tasks like updating insurance deductions, other payroll deductions, and vacation balances.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping
• An understanding of business finances and annual business finance requirements
• Proficient in standard commercial business bookkeeping practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Working in Word and Excel is a significant part of this position.
• Knowledge of Sage Accounting software
• Administrative or assistant experience
• Experience with human resources/benefits
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Detail oriented
